OVERVIEW
Growing up, I often went to car shows with my grandfathers. I loved the thrill of riding in those loud, smelly, fast, cars, and meeting all of their friends. It seemed as if the world of classic cars brought everyone together. This hobby was passed down to my father and its something he and I have bonded over my entire life. Sadly, both of my grandfathers passed away unexpectedly, but I have made sure to continue their legacy of cars.
My Proposition
Recently, I asked my father if he and I could restore my late grandfather's 1979 corvette. After lots of convincing, especially my mother, they finally agreed to let me do it. I was thrilled. Not only could I pursue my dream of owning a classic car, but it could be a way to keep alive the memory of the people who first introduced me to this passion.
The Project
I spent months planning the project and saving up money. This past summer, the plans became reality. My father and I spent countless hours working side by side, bringing the car back to life. After lots of customization and even more hard work, it was finally finished. The once yellow, stock corvette was transformed into a: beautiful, red car, a symbol of my grandfather's legacy and a dream come true.
THE RESULT
Now I have continued the tradition of cars by setting up and hosting car meets at the prep. Bringing the car community together and getting to share this passion with likeminded individuals. Although nearly comlplete this probject will forever be ongoing.
